Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials, and their respective sizes, and complete necessary calculations.
• Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a project.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Take responsibility for coordinating workload through design development and construction document phases to complete the documents on schedule.
• Coordinate and assist with affected disciplines, addenda, requests for information, change proposal requests, and change orders, and incorporate agreed‑upon changes into the project documents.
• Provide structural design of a diverse range of project types including data centers, aerospace, manufacturing, transit facilities, operations and maintenance facilities, commercial, health care, education, life science and civic projects.
• Conduct structural analysis and calculations to meet design standards, safety, and client goals.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Respond to design questions and resolve technical issues.
• Take ownership of your portion of structural design: reliably meet deadlines, budget, and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BS degree in Architectural Engineering; Structural emphasis.
• A minimum of 3 years structural engineer experience.
• Knowledge of national design codes and material standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, AISC 341, etc.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage workload for multiple projects and tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng.).
• Previous structural engineer experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar software.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions.
