STV, Inc. seeks an Engineer - Structural in the Philadelphia or Douglassville area.

The role targets a structural engineer with 5-10 years of experience to lead design efforts on building and infrastructure projects within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will support structural design for a diverse portfolio, including transportation facilities, municipal, federal, healthcare, and commercial projects, working with senior engineers, PMs, and architects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred.
• 5-10 years of structural design experience across facilities.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, or timber structures.
• Proficiency with Revit and structural analysis software.
• Working knowledge of IBC, AISC, ACI, and ASCE codes.
• Experience preparing calculations and construction documents.
• EIT certification required; PE licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for new construction, renovation, and rehab projects.
• Perform structural calculations, analyses, and code reviews.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Utilize Revit/AutoCAD and analysis software to support design.
• Coordinate with architects, civil and MEP engineers, and other disciplines.
• Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and construction support.
• Review documents for quality and code conformance.
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination.
• Participate in client and project team meetings.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and designers toward leadership roles.

Job description

STV's Buildings Division is seeking an Engineer - Structural to join our Philadelphia or Douglassville office. This role is ideal for a structural engineer with 5-10 years of experience who is ready to take on greater technical responsibility, lead design efforts on building and infrastructure projects, and grow within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of structural systems for a diverse portfolio of public and private-sector building projects, including transportation facilities, municipal buildings, federal buildings, healthcare facilities, and commercial developments - working alongside senior engineers, project managers, and architects throughout all phases of project development.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for new construction, renovation, and rehabilitation building projects.
• Perform structural engineering calculations, analyses, and code compliance reviews.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, structural reports, and supporting documentation.
• Utilize Revit/AutoCAD, and structural analysis software to support design and coordination.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and other project disciplines.
• Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and construction support activities.
• Review design documents for quality, accuracy, and conformance to applicable codes and standards.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination efforts.
• Participate in client and project team meetings as needed.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and designers while advancing toward project leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution, additionally a Master's Degree is preferred.
• 5-10 years of structural engineering design experience for commercial, institutional, municipal, transportation, healthcare, higher education, or government facilities.
• Experience designing structural systems in steel, concrete, masonry, and/or timber.
• Proficiency with Revit and structural analysis software (e.g., RAM, ETABS, RISA, or similar).
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes including IBC, AISC, ACI, and ASCE standards.
• Experience preparing engineering calculations and construction documents.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• EIT certification required; PE license or active pursuit of licensure preferred.

Compensation Range:

$104,402.58 - $119,317.24
