Job summary

Axiom Consultants, a Ruekert & Mielke company, is seeking a Structural Designer to join our Building Services division in the Iowa City or Madison office. You will develop 3D models and construction documents using Revit, and collaborate with architects and engineers across disciplines.

You’ll work under the Structural Team Leader, coordinate with MEP and civil teams, and support project managers to meet deadlines. 100% employee-owned culture with mentoring and growth opportunities awaits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural drafting/design with an Associate’s degree, or 5+ years of industry experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience with commercial building design incorporating concrete, masonry, wood, foundations, and steel detailing.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and construction documents using Revit.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop design concepts.
• Coordinate structural design with architectural, MEP, and civil teams.
• Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and RFIs.
• Work with project managers to meet deadlines and deliverable expectations.
• Participate in internal and external project meetings.
• Ensure adherence to company standards in drafting and design practices.
