Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking experienced Structural Designers to join our team, focusing on safety-driven, cost-effective designs for a growing nuclear market. The role partners with design, fabrication, and construction teams to deliver robust engineering solutions that meet client expectations and support Kiewit’s tradition of excellence.

You will develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures, mentor junior staff, and ensure designs comply with safety and maintenance

Qualifications

Completion of a CAD-related vocational training program.
Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
Demonstrates leadership to monitor peers and guide less experienced teammates.
Basic knowledge of current computer operating systems.
Effective written and verbal communication with team members and disciplines.
Proficient in Navisworks for design and clash detection; skilled with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with design group members to review and exchange project information.
Check design for safety, operability, and maintenance before submitting.
Report task progress to Lead Designer.
Develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures; leverage BIM to create plans and details.
Mentor teammates in design and modeling techniques; resolve issues with input from engineers.
