Job summary

Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering in Lenexa, KS is seeking an Early Career Structural CAD Designer to support BIM modeling and drafting across multiple projects. The role works closely with Structural Design Engineers to develop foundations and steel structures, improving standards and tools in a collaborative team environment.

The ideal candidate holds at least an associate or bachelor’s degree in Design & Drafting Technology and has strong Revit skills.

Qualifications

  • Associates, Vocational or Bachelor's degree in Design & Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology or Design or a related degree
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge and experience with BIM software (Revit) is required

  • Gathers information and collaborates to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures

Position Overview

Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is seeking an Early Career Structural CAD Designer for the Lenexa, Kansas office. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping to establish, maintain, and improve standards and tools while contributing to project success. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a 2 year technical school degree in Computer Aided Design with a focus on BIM, be proficient with the latest version of Autodesk Revit, have a good understanding of design document creation, and be comfortable working closely with Structural Design Engineers on multiple projects simultaneously.

Location

This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with other design group team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design and development
  • Gathers required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures
  • Leverages Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details
  • Assist in the development of department standards and tools
