Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Irving, TX is seeking an experienced Design Technician to join our Structural team. You will perform structural detailing for bridges and other structures, producing accurate drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Bentley software.

You will work with a talented CAD team, maintain drawing databases, and support project schedules with high-quality work and minimal supervision. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to work

Qualifications

  • Experience with structural detailing for bridges and vertical/miscellaneous structures.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Bentley software (MicroStation/OpenRoads/OpenBridge).
  • Detail oriented with professional attitude and good communication.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced Design Technician to join our Structural team in Irving, Texas (TX)!

Responsibilities
  • This individual will primarily be responsible for: structural detailing for bridge, vertical, and miscellaneous structures requiring advanced working knowledge of structuraldesign/drafting standards, practices, and techniques
  • This person will develop technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D for bridge and wall layouts, Revit for modeling and detailing, and Bentley software (Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler)
  • The person in this position will make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations
  • Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks
  • Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes
  • Maintains drawing database
  • May supervise and train CAD staff
  • Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
  • Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk and/or Bentley products (Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation)
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
