Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Design Technician to join our Advanced Manufacturing Data Centers team. You will support the design of hyperscale data centers and other mission-critical facilities, developing drawings and BIM models, coordinating systems, and helping produce construction documents.

You’ll work with structural engineers and designers across the United States, utilizing Revit and AutoCAD, and you may organize design work for small projects or work packages within project standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years drafting/design experience in the structural field.
• At least 1 year of Revit.
• At least 3 years AutoCAD design experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update structural drawings and models for data center projects.
• Coordinate building systems and existing conditions with engineers and project teams.
• Produce clear, accurate construction documents, including foundations and framing details.
• Support project coordination, quality reviews, and adherence to project standards.

At Jacobs, we help clients plan, design, and deliver complex facilities that support a more connected and sustainable world. We’re seeking a Structural Design Technician to support our Advanced Manufacturing Data Centers team.

You’ll contribute to the design of hyperscale data centers and other mission-critical facilities. Working with structural engineers, designers, and project teams, you’ll develop and update structural drawings and models, coordinate building systems and existing conditions, and help produce clear, accurate construction documents. Your work may include foundations, structural framing, equipment support, and other building elements used in data center projects.

You’ll use 2D drafting and BIM tools, including Revit, to support project coordination and quality reviews. Depending on your experience, you may also help organize design work for a small project or work package, follow project standards and procedures, and share technical knowledge with teammates.

Here's what you'll need

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 5 years drafting/design experience in the structural field
• At least 1 year of Revit
• At least 3 years AutoCAD design experience

Ideally, you’ll also have

• At least 2 years of Revit experience
• Experience working on traditional steel and concrete structures
• Experience leading a team of Designers
• Experience with Data Centers - Hyperscale
• Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam

The base salary range for this position is $69,300.00 to $121,200.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
