PSSI | Pacific Southwest Structures, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to assist with day-to-day management of structural concrete projects in the Orange County/Inland Empire area.
Responsibilities include document control, cost tracking, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and liaising with General Contractors to keep projects on schedule and within budget. The role requires proficiency in concrete construction, strong analytical abilities, and experience with cast-in-place projects.

The Project Engineer assists with day-to-day project management needs of assigned structural concrete projects throughout the Orange County/Inland Empire region, including document control, cost tracking, scheduling, subcontractor management, and coordination with General Contractors.
The essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Project Schedule: Ensure project schedules are effectively executed, and deadlines are met.
2. Prepare Submittals: Responsible for gathering, preparing, or acquiring necessary information and submitting them as required.
3. Generating Request for Information (RFI) forms: Generating and submitting RFIs as necessary to clarify project specifications and requirements.
4. Extra Work Tickets: Ensure all extra work tickets are complete, appropriately signed, and tracked.
5. Change Management: Track and identify contract changes.
6. Change Orders: Price and submit Change Order Requests.
7. Cost Control: Weekly production planning and review of project costs.
8. Billings: Manage subcontractor billings and review and approve vendor payments.
9. Procure Materials: Work alongside superintendents and foremen to procure materials, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of contract requirements, purchase orders, necessary quantities, and on-site needs.
10. Progress Documentation: Document project progress with photographs for recordkeeping.
11. File and Maintain Inspection and Testing Records: Organize, file, and maintain records of inspections and testing for compliance and reference.
12. As-Built Drawings: Create and manage accurate as-built drawings for project documentation.
13. Close out: Track close-out requirements and punch list to ensure completed in a timely manner.
14. A commitment to safety: Ensure projects adhere to all PSSI and project safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Experience: Proficient knowledge of concrete construction and analytical skills. Experience in commercial cast in place construction preferred.
