Job summary

RS&H is seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to lead the bridge/structural transportation team in Denver. You will spearhead design efforts, ensure technical excellence, and mentor junior engineers while guiding projects from planning through construction.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, client coordination, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver complex infrastructure on time and within budget. A Colorado PE license and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Colorado PE license required.
  • Experience with CDOT, local agencies preferred.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and mentor staff.
  • Strong communication and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project lead on bridge and structural transportation projects.
  • Plan, design, analyze, and deliver structural bridge solutions that meet client objectives, project requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project delivery and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of new processes, standards, and best practices that enhance project quality and operational efficiency.
  • Manage small discipline teams, multidisciplinary project teams, and/or direct reports.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need To Be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 10+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado
  • Experience working with CDOT, local cities, and counties preferred
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to major infrastructure projects or leading multiple moderate-sized projects through design and delivery
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and review engineering work for technical accuracy and quality
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex or potentially sensitive technical and business challenges in a professional manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, project partners, and internal teams
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines while balancing multiple priorities and project commitments
Compensation

The typical salary range for this position in Denver is $138,000 to $168,000 with compensation commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
