ABOUT THE POSITION

Structural Bridge Engineer | Providence, RI | Hybrid

Join VHB’s dynamic Rhode Island Structural Team as a Structural Bridge Engineer and be a part of our expanding and innovative group! This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and impactful bridge projects across Rhode Island and New England. Utilize state-of-the-art tools and technologies to design and develop digital models of bridges, contributing to transformative infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities

  • Perform structural modeling and design of highway, pedestrian and railroad bridges and other structures
  • Create plans and digital models of the bridges and highway bridge approaches
  • Perform bridge inspections
  • Develop construction cost estimates
  • Prepare contract documents
  • Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field of study (structural emphasis preferred)
  • 5-8 years of professional structural/transportation/bridge design experience required(master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience)
  • PE license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Successfulcompletion of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges training a plus
  • Familiarity with structural modeling/engineering software is a plus

The base salary range for this position is $97,000.00-$119,000.00. This offer is determined based on several job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, and geographic location.
