Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction in Downers Grove, IL seeks a Structural BIM Modeler to develop structural models from schematic through construction-ready information using Revit, Tekla, and Bluebeam in a fast-paced design/build environment.

You will collaborate with design engineers and project managers to produce permit-ready drawings, ensure code compliance, and deliver accurate, coordinated models for multi-disciplinary teams across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• AA degree in CAD or similar technical field.
• 1–3 years BIM modeling in commercial/industrial, manufacturing project types.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Experience with permit-level documents is a plus.
• Experience with Tekla fabrication modeling is a plus.
• Coding experience (C#, VBA, Python) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural design information using Revit, Tekla, and Bluebeam.
• Create conceptual to construction-ready structural models.
• Perform preliminary structural layout based on guidance from engineering staff.
• Develop and check complete drawing packages for permit submission.
• Manage electronic markups from engineering team into deliverables.
• Collaborate with PM, Construction, and Engineering teams across functions.
• Apply knowledge of building codes and standards in design development.

The Structural BIM Modeler will play a key role in guiding the delivery of our schematic through construction ready information using REVIT, Tekla, and internally developed tools and processes in a Design/Build environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural design information using Revit, Tekla, and Bluebeam software applications.
• Create conceptual to construction ready structural models based on guidance from engineering staff and coordination with other designers.
• Perform preliminary structural system layout based on engineering team guidance and your experience.
• Develop details to properly articulate complex structural conditions.
• Develop and check complete drawing packages for permit submission.
• Manage and incorporate electronic markups from engineering team into structural deliverables.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Construction, and Engineering team members in cross-functional settings to ensure that the design is accurate and that contract responsibilities are met according to client's expectations.
• Apply basic knowledge of building codes, standards, and other criteria in the development of project designs.

Requirements

• Associate degree (AA) Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar technical degree.
• 1-3 years of BIM Modeling in Commercial Industrial, Manufacturing, and similar project types.
• Motivated self-starter that focuses on details and quality.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Experience using Revit for permit level document creation is a plus.
• Experience with Tekla fabrication modeling is a plus.
• Coding language (C#, VBA, Python) experience and interest is a plus.
