Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Structural Analysis Intern for its Long Beach, CA site to support the Structural Analysis Team with detailed simulations and physics-based analysis. You will assist in Vehicle Design and analysis activities under mentorship, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Eligible candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral program in aerospace/mechanical engineering, with at least one semester remaining, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate program in an Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Work with mentors to apply engineering concepts and grow technically.
  • Support detailed simulations and physics-based analysis under supervision.
  • Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress and learning.
  • Join tech talks and network with interns and employees.

As a Structural Analysis Internbased at Rocket Lab’s site in Long Beach, California, you will have the opportunity to support theStructuralAnalysis Teaminperformingdetailed simulations and physics-based analysis and support the Vehicle Design and analysis activities.TheStructural Analysisteamis responsible forthe analysis, design validation, and future improvements of our suite of Space Systems and Space Components.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

  • Work with a fast-paced group of professionals to apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s,master'sor doctorate degree program in an Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE
  • GPA of 3.5 or above
  • 6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
  • Experience using CAD/CAM
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)softwareexperience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning January, February, or March 2027
COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS
  • Pay Range CA: $28.00 USD Hourly
  • You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation costs

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
