JMJ Phillip Group seeks a Stress Engineer for a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in the Baltimore, Maryland area. The role focuses on structural/stress analyses for nacelle and thrust reverser products and guiding junior engineers.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams, develop robust analysis processes, and present findings to customers and engineering leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years aerospace stress engineering experience.
  • Experience with Patran and Nastran.

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to stress engineers supporting production, product improvement, and field issues.
  • Solve complex, less-defined engineering problems and develop practical solutions that support short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical and product issues.
  • Develop and implement processes, metrics, and best practices to improve the quality and efficiency of stress analysis activities.
  • Support development and coordination of a global engineering resource network.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to customers, internal stakeholders, and engineering leadership.

A leading aerospace and defense manufacturer specializing in aircraft components, propulsion systems, advanced engineering, and maintenance solutions for military and commercial aviation customers is seeking a Stress Engineer in the Baltimore, Maryland area.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead structural/stress analysis for nacelle and thrust reverser products using established engineering principles and program requirements
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to stress engineers supporting production, product improvement, and field issues
  • Solve complex, less-defined engineering problems and develop practical solutions that support short- and long-term business objectives
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical and product issues

Candidates Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 5+ years of aerospace stress engineering experience
  • Experience analyzing metallic and composite structures using hand calculations and Finite Element Methods (FEM/FEA)
  • Experience with structural analysis, stress calculations, and aerospace component evaluation
  • Must have experience with Patran and Nastran software
