Job Description
Interactive Government Holdings (IGH) is seeking qualified, trained and capable individuals to serve Strength and Conditioning Coaches for the Army Reserve Holistic Health and Fitness Performance Team.
The Strength and Conditioning Coach provides evidence-informed physical performance services to U.S. Army Reserve personnel under a contractor agreement. The coach designs and delivers safe, scalable training that supports physical readiness, occupational performance, resilience, and reduced injury risk. The role requires close coordination with unit leaders, medical and readiness personnel, and other performance professionals while maintaining professional boundaries and working within the contract's defined scope.
Position Requirements
Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive):
Maintain expert knowledge of current Army standards, doctrine, and regulations related to H2F, including but not limited to FM 7-22, the Army Fitness Test (AFT), Combat Fitness Test (CFT), AR 600-9 (The Army Body Composition Program), and AR 350-1 (Army Training and Leader Development).
Collaborate as a cohesive, interdisciplinary team to provide holistic and integrated H2F support, ensuring that all domain programming is synchronized.
Actively participate in required meetings, planning sessions, and working groups with Government personnel to synchronize HPT efforts with the unit Yearly Training Calendar (YTC)
Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with unit leadership, the COR, and other stakeholders.
Collect and provide accurate data for all required reports and deliverables, ensuring timely submission. The specific timeframes for developing and submitting all educational materials and strategies are defined in the
Deliverables schedule.
Maintain all professional credentials, licensures, and certifications required for their position at no cost to the Government and in accordance with the Defense Health Agency Policy Manual (DHAPM) 6025.13, Clinical Quality Management in the Military Health System (MHS), volume 4 Credentialing and Privileging.
Complete all mandatory Government training (e.g., Antiterrorism Level 1, OPSEC, Cybersecurity Awareness, HIPAA, Combatting Trafficking in Persons) within the specified timeframes.
Adhere to all applicable DOD, DHA and Army instructions, policy manuals, regulations, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the highest professional ethical standards.
Perform pre-approved travel to support unit training events, workshops, and other H2F functions. Contractor personnel shall submit pre-approval requests, including estimated costs and itineraries, for all travel supporting the "39-Day" model to the COR at least ten (10) business days in advance. The Contractor shall provide trip reports or After-Action Reviews (AARs) upon return.
Conduct recurring knowledge transfer and train Government-designated personnel to maintain and use contractor-developed strategies, curricula, and resource materials. Maintain current editable native source files, supporting documentation, and version histories in the Government-designated repository.
Program Development & Education: Lead the development and implementation of command-specific Physical Readiness Training Programs (PRTP) and Special Conditioning Programs (SCP). Develop and maintain a library of practical resources, including scalable training templates, exercise demonstration videos, and equipment modification guides for units with limited resources.
Training & Coaching: Design, demonstrate, and lead comprehensive, periodized strength and conditioning programs that enhance all components of physical fitness and are aligned with both the AFT/CFT and unit Mission Essential Task Lists (METL). Provide expert instruction on proper exercise techniques and safety protocols to maximize training effectiveness and mitigate MSKI risk.
Integration & Mentorship: Coordinate closely with the HPT and unit medical personnel to develop and oversee educational physical readiness programs for Soldiers returning from injury. Coach and mentor unit HITs, providing technical guidance and hands‑on training to improve their ability to lead safe and effective physical training.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
Credentials: Must be certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA). Must maintain a current BLS/CPR with AED certification.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the last four (4) years designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for tactical populations or collegiate/professional athletic teams.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of properly lifting and manipulating loads up to 45 pounds and capable of meeting the physical demands of training with Soldiers in all types of weather, including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe training.
