Job summary

The Town of Lady Lake is seeking a semi-skilled laborer to perform road maintenance, sign installation, and vegetation control. The role includes operating light to medium equipment and driving trucks as needed, with duties spanning from grounds maintenance to post-disaster response.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of manual labor experience, including equipment operation. A Florida driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of manual labor experience, including operating light/medium construction equipment.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in construction and maintenance.
• Ability to learn new methods and operate/maintain tools and equipment.
• Awareness of occupational hazards in construction and maintenance.
• Ability to follow instructions and perform basic math functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform road maintenance and patch holes with asphalt or lime rock, clear vegetation, mow right-of-ways, and maintain retention ponds.
• Operate light to medium equipment and drive dump/flatbed trucks as needed.
• Maintain grounds, trim trees and hedges, and perform general landscaping tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and keep the shop clean and sanitary.
• Observe traffic control safety devices andDirect traffic and install signs.
