Job summary

City of South Padre Island seeks a Public Works Foreman to assist the Assistant Public Works Director in overseeing street and storm drainage maintenance, construction, and related facilities. You will supervise crews, plan schedules, and monitor safety and equipment usage in a dynamic coastal city environment.

The role requires three years of supervisory maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and strong communication skills in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of supervisory work experience in street or storm drainage maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules and implements street and drainage maintenance activities.
• Oversees construction and maintenance work for standards conformance.
• Trains, supervises, and assigns daily tasks to employees.
• Maintains inventory of materials and equipment.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed and incidents are reported.
