Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Strategic Advisor - Professional Associate Director to provide subject matter expertise across multiple client engagements, including public health programs with CDC and other partners. You will develop and review presentations, briefings, memos, and reports, and present to senior client executives.

You will facilitate strategy sessions, coordinate pilots, and help scale solutions across jurisdictions, while pursuing new business opportunities and maintaining key client

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • TEN+ years of experience managing large public health programs.
  • Experience with CDC and federal/public health agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Facilitation experience/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

What You Will Do:
  • As a Strategic Advisor - Professional Associate Director you will provide subject matter expertise in support of multiple client engagements; develop and review presentations, briefings, memos, and reports.
  • Present during meetings, summits, and working sessions with senior client executives
  • Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and tiger teams
  • Discuss and develop solutions with client service teams and existing/new clients
  • Identify policy, program, and/or business problems in client organization and support new business capture from sourcing through award/close
  • Perform research on key accounts and client leadership with which to engage to effectively qualify and scope new business opportunities
  • Actively engage within target accounts and relevant market(s) to keep current on existing and new trends, problem areas, or other issues that develop into new requirements and growth opportunities
  • Consistently and systematically initiate client discussions; pursue new relationships and maintain existing relationships
  • Understand client business issues and match them to firm’s capabilities; identified new opportunities to support client organizations
  • Support development of proposals, white papers, thought leadership
  • Serve as the primary coordinator and trusted advisor for a portfolio of pilot projects, bringing together public health agencies, CDC, National Partners, intermediaries, implementation teams, and evaluation partners to advance pilot design, implementation, and scaling.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, guiding charter development and scoping activities, tracking outcomes and evaluation requirements, supporting cross-organizational collaboration, and ensuring lessons learned are documented for broader adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key relationship manager and facilitator across public health projects, project teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate across multiple stakeholders and partner organizations, acting as a neutral convener to move work forward.
  • Support evaluation, reporting, milestone tracking, and measurement of project outcomes.
  • Capture lessons learned and help develop reusable playbooks, guidance, and sustainability plans to support scaling across jurisdictions.
What You Will Need:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust; Candidates with an active Public Trust or suitability are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • TEN (10) or more years of experience managing large and complex public health programs, including experience working with or within a federal or state public health agency.
  • Recent experience working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Knowledge of federal government budget planning, execution, and procurement processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a demonstrated ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated facilitation experience/certification.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a collaborative environment
  • Possess an acute awareness of organizational cultures and political savvy
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships with senior executives
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
