Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Strategy & Operations Analyst II to turn data into insights across the Cloud Technology Group.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, build data pipelines, and automate reporting that drives decisions in Networks, Finance, and planning groups. You will query large datasets with SQL, create Tableau dashboards, and translate metrics into actionable guidance, leveraging AI tools and cloud warehouses to support scalable analytics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
• 5 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or data analytics
• Solid working knowledge of SQL with experience querying and analyzing large datasets
• Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for basic analysis and QA tasks and experience with data and system integrations
• Experience creating dashboards in data visualization tools like Tableau
• Experience with AI Developer tools like Copilot or Claude in day-to-day operations
• Strong communication skills to translate requirements and share findings with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) or willingness to learn

Our Business Operations, Data & Analytics team partners with the Cloud Technology Group (CTG) to meet customer needs. We empower the business to make smarter, data-driven decisions. We standardize, automate, and govern data, analytics, and reporting to deliver consistent, scalable solutions.

Partner with the best

You will build and maintain analytics solutions supporting teams across CTG. You will work on data modeling, dashboards, and reporting to turn data into insights that guide decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and support data processes across Networks teams, like Regional Planning, Global Capacity Planning, Colocation, and Finance organizations (among others!).

As a Strategy & Operations Analyst II, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with Network Infrastructure and Colocation teams to gather requirements and understand key business metrics
• Automating reporting and enabling self-serve functionalities to provide visibility into key metrics
• Assisting in building and maintaining data pipelines and models to support analytics use cases
• Writing queries and combining data from various sources
• Communicating insights to stakeholders through visualizations and reports

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or data analytics and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
• Possess solid working knowledge of SQL with experience querying and analyzing large datasets
• Be proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets for basic analysis and QA tasks and have experience with data and system integrations
• Be knowledgeable about creating dashboards in data visualization tools, like Tableau
• Have some experience with AI Developer tools, like Copilot or Claude, in your day-to-day operations
• Demonstrate solid communication skills to translate requirements and share findings with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Have some experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) or willingness to learn

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $88,900 - $160,100/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
