Job summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Strategy Intern in Salisbury, MD, to connect classroom learning with real-world business impact over a 10-12 week period. You will analyze data, evaluate performance, and generate insights guiding strategic decisions in corporate strategy, finance, and food production.

You will work with experienced professionals, participate in learning workshops, and gain exposure to senior leadership. Housing stipends, competitive pay, and networking events are offered.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university in Finance, Economics, Business or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25; 3.5 GPA highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive market and competitor analysis using quantitative benchmarking and monitor market share dynamics and industry trends.
  • Assist in forming and implementing strategic projects by collecting and analyzing data and developing KPIs.
  • Develop and refine high-quality presentations and materials for senior management and the Board of Directors.

This position has a target wage of $21.90 - $28.13 per hour, based on graduation year. Overtime may be available.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

  • Develop comprehensive market and competitor analysis by utilizing quantitative competitive benchmarking, conducting thorough analysis of market share dynamics, and staying informed on key industry trends, competitive landscape shifts, and customer preferences.
  • Assist in the formation and implementation of strategic projects by identifying key root causes, collecting and analyzing data from disparate sources, employing segmentation analytics, and developing quantitative KPIs to track initiative success.
  • Develop and refine high-quality presentations and other supporting materials for senior management and the Board of Directors.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • This position is open to graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university in a relevant field of study. Finance, Economics, Business or other related disciplines.
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA or higher.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software.
  • Must have strong communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Must be able to work independently or in teams.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • 3.5 GPA or higher is highly preferred.
  • Completed coursework in Finance, Economics, and/or other Business-related discipline.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
