Job summary

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority seeks a professional to facilitate its Integrated Management System (AIMS) and support continual improvement across departments. You will collaborate with the Business Systems team to ensure data quality, develop performance measures, and translate analytics into strategic recommendations.

The role includes staff training on ISO standards, EUM, and Lean Six Sigma, plus assisting in policy updates and strategic planning. Travel between CFPUA sites is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, data analytics, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of work experience in utility operations, management systems, continuous improvement, data analytics, SharePoint, or information systems in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Associate's degree in business administration, public administration, or data analytics and four years of work experience listed above in lieu of bachelor's degree.

Job description

Incumbents in this position are responsible for facilitating Cape Fear Public Utility Authority’s Integrated Management System (AIMS), which is the set of processes that guide continual improvement in the organization. Incumbents will support the organization to ensure compliance with AIMS processes including strategic planning, document management, internal audit, performance measurement/monitoring, communication of continual improvement opportunities, and assisting in implementing process improvements. This position is assigned to pay grade R30.

  • Serves as primary performance measurement and strategic planning contact for assigned departments in preparation and review of the strategic operating plan and assists with implementation efforts.
  • Works with the CFPUA's Business Systems team and end users to maintain performance measurement and data visualizations and ensure the quality of the underlying data.
  • Collaborates with leaders at multiple levels in the organization to develop, sustain, and update Cape Fear Public Utility Authority’s Integrated Management System (AIMS) and associated strategic plan.
  • Trains staff at various levels of the organization on AIMS processes and continuous improvement best practices including ISO Standards, Effective Utility Management (EUM), and/or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Provides professional support including developing recommendations on process improvements and any associated resource needs through research of best practices, benchmarking, and data analysis and facilitating the implementation of identified improvements.
  • Assists with strategic planning and strategy implementation efforts.
  • Assists in developing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the development of metrics and reporting of all strategic metrics.
  • Assists with the preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and translation of performance measures, benchmarking and related data into strategic recommendations and action plans.
  • Serves on internal audit team to ensure conformance to business processes and compliance with legal and other requirements.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
