Eastern Kentucky University seeks a Marketing Strategist to develop and optimize data-driven campaigns supporting enrollment, brand, and student success. You will report to the Sr. Director of Strategy and Creative and ensure initiatives are targeted, measurable, and aligned with EKU’s priorities.

You will execute audience segmentation, campaign performance analysis, and cross-channel strategy, including content and copywriting, to drive engagement and conversions across key audiences.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • Experience: Two years in marketing, content development, or communications.
  • CRM familiarity: Technolutions Slate preferred.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Marketing Strategist develops, implements, and optimizesdata-driven marketing strategies in support of EKU's institutionalpriorities, including enrollment, brand, academic programs, andstudent success. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategy andCreative, this position ensures marketing initiatives are targeted,measurable, and aligned with institutional goals. The MarketingStrategist executes audience segmentation, campaign performanceanalysis, and multi-channel marketing strategy - including contentand copywriting - to drive engagement and conversion across keyaudiences.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing,Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field. Experiencemay be substituted for specific degree requirements but noteducational level.

Experience: Two years of experience in marketing,content development, or communications. Experience withmulti-channel marketing campaigns and digital platforms preferred.Familiarity with CRM systems (Technolutions Slate preferred) aplus

  • 35% - Strategic Campaign Development & Execution Developsand implements multi-channel marketing strategies integratingemail, digital advertising, social media, print, and web content insupport of institutional marketing priorities. Collaborates withinternal stakeholders to ensure campaign messaging aligns withEKU's brand voice and strategic goals. Oversees campaign planning,timelines, execution, and performance tracking to optimizeengagement and conversion rates. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Content Development & Copywriting Writes and editsaudience-specific copy for email campaigns, web pages, socialmedia, digital advertising, print collateral, and video scripts.Ensures all written content reflects EKU's brand voice and isappropriately tailored to the target audience and channel. Partnerswith the creative team to ensure copy and design are developed inalignment with campaign messaging strategy. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Audience Segmentation & Personalization LeveragesTechnolutions Slate and other digital marketing platforms todevelop targeted campaigns tailored to distinct audience segments.Implements A/B testing, automation workflows, and behavioraltriggers to enhance marketing effectiveness. Ensures campaignmessaging and visuals are appropriately tailored for each segmentand funnel stage. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Performance Analytics & Optimization Tracks andanalyzes marketing KPIs including click-through rates, conversions,engagement, and yield to inform decision-making. Uses GoogleAnalytics, CRM dashboards, and reporting tools to measure andrefine marketing effectiveness. Provides data-drivenrecommendations for campaign adjustments, messaging refinements,and budget considerations. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Collaboration & Project Managemen Works withAdmissions, Enrollment Management, Student Success, and othercampus partners to ensure marketing efforts support institutionalpriorities. Supports project management functions includingmarketing calendars, deadlines, and vendor/agency coordination. -(Essential)
