Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Technical Architect to provide technical leadership across IT planning, solution specification/design, and target architecture development.

The role requires deep knowledge of IT and commercial solutions, with experience advising federal CIOs and IT managers. The position involves contributing to the Enterprise Architecture Working Group, facilitating strategic IT planning, and delivering costed solution packages.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of IT stack and commercial IT products.
• Experience with COTS integration and lifecycle cost estimates.
• Strong communication and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the Enterprise Architecture Working Group and developing target architectures.
• Facilitating IT strategic planning with the customer CIO and project staff.
• Responding to technical questions and research requests from the customer CIO.
• Designing and estimating costs for technical solutions to IT investment requests.
• Preparing solution packages with recommended solutions and benefits.
• Advising and driving an application modernization initiative.
• Conducting Fit-Gap evaluations of proposed COTS solutions.
• Providing guidance for systems development and engineering projects.
• Coordinating reachback with SMEs to address technical issues.
• Preparing deliverable reports and briefings.
