Job summary

Inteva Products in Troy, Michigan, is seeking a Purchasing/SCM liaison for assigned programs to drive procurement from pre-award through Start of Production, aligning PDT and SCM on component sourcing and supplier management.

You will manage purchasing activities, establish sourcing strategies, negotiate quotations, and ensure PPAP/APQP readiness, BOM targets, tooling lifetime, and on-time changes, with regular travel to production sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive purchasing experience in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of purchasing tools, negotiation methods, and business communication.
• Working knowledge of automotive commodities, materials and processes.
• Experience with APQP / PPAP and new program launch processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/CAD data.
• Customer-focused mindset and strong analytical skills.
• Proven strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities within assigned product group and program(s) from pre-award up to and including Start of Production (SOP).
• Establish component sourcing strategy. Evaluate quotations, conduct negotiations and assure timely issuance of purchase orders.
• Ensure purchased BOM target and Tool budget fulfillment in cooperation with commodity teams.
• Ensure sufficient capacity and tooling lifetime for new and carry over components.
• Manage prototype, pre-series parts ordering and tracking.
• Monitor supplier APQP and ensure timely PPAP completion of purchased components.
• Ensure change requests are executed on time and within business case targets.
• Actively participate in program reviews representing SCM and coordinate all relevant follow-up actions within SCM.
• Travel to Inteva production site and supply base as needed/requested.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business/Engineering or related field
