Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 3 or 4) in McLean, VA. You will ensure timely material availability for production, manage MRP-based planning, and collaborate across Procurement, Manufacturing, and Engineering to optimize inventory and cost.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years (or a master’s with 3+ years) of related experience, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance. Remote work is not available, and travel is up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related professional experience or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of related professional experience.
• Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Proven experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system.
• Strong experience with data analysis/management tools such as MS Excel and MS Access.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the right materials are available for production and delivered on time.
• Review on-hand vs. required material; prioritize needs, set inventory levels, and plan where materials should be sent.
• Use MRP to compare demand and supply for purchased parts, identify shortages, and update plans and orders as inventory changes.
• Support product changes across the lifecycle, including new launches, production ramp-ups, and end-of-life phase-outs.
• Work with Sourcing/Procurement to set inventory targets, reduce working capital, and drive cost savings, affordability, and process improvements.
• Assess supplier and supply chain capacity, review lead times, flag time‑critical purchases, and work with suppliers to deliver on time and at the right quality.
• Partner with Program Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement to solve problems, meet build/test schedules, and communicate shortages and their impact.
