Job summary

IHI Turbo America is seeking an Associate Manager of Supplier Development to strengthen and develop the supplier base through performance management, negotiations, cost improvement, capacity planning, and risk management. You will support the Supplier Development Manager in building a stronger function.

The role requires leading negotiations, monitoring supplier performance, and developing improvement plans while collaborating with multiple internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in supplier development, purchasing, sourcing or related field.
• Automotive/Tier 1 manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong negotiations and relationship management skills.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations as required.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, including pricing and terms.
• Monitor and drive supplier performance focusing on delivery and cost.
• Develop supplier improvement plans for underperforming suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Support supplier selection, onboarding, development, and long-term strategy.
• Identify capacity constraints and develop supplier plans.
• Identify and mitigate supplier and supply-chain risks.
• Lead cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support sourcing activities and new programs.
• Participate in readiness reviews, capacity planning, and risk management.
• Conduct supplier visits and business reviews.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, SQA, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Program Management, Finance, and Manufacturing.
