Job summary

Victaulic is seeking a Subcontract Buyer/Planner to keep subcontracted work and purchased inventory moving on schedule. You will collaborate cross-functionally with project teams, engineering, and quality to ensure subcontractor performance meets scope, quality, and delivery timelines.

You will manage safety stock, Kanban, and ERP data to ensure material availability and avoid excess inventory, while coordinating with suppliers to align lead times and orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (4-yr) or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Buying or Planning, Material Control, Subcontract Administration, or related fields.
• In-depth knowledge of ERP and/or material planning systems (BPCS and/or M3).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong analytical problem-solving ability.
• Good oral and written communication skills, with ability to negotiate and hold subcontractors accountable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the link between internal project management and external trade vendors, owning subcontracted projects through completion.
• Manage subcontract purchase orders, shop orders, and component planning to meet customer demand; monitor performance and adjust as needed.
• Own the day-to-day relationships with subcontractors and resolve discrepancies related to cost, delivery, and invoicing.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in subcontract management and administration processes.
• Establish lead times and delivery schedules with suppliers and report on performance.
