Job summary

Pearson seeks a seasoned senior sales and policy leader to drive the Career Ready commercial strategy across state education markets. You will manage a $20M+ state funding quota, engage governors’ offices, and coordinate with Pearson’s Government Affairs team to secure funding and drive adoption of career readiness curriculums.

Lead a team of state strategy and implementation managers, shaping market and policy direction while ensuring revenue growth through state appropriations and grants.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in state policy, education policy, budget strategy, or related commercial roles.
• Experience in securing K-12 state funding (appropriations, grants) preferred.
• Proven track record of revenue ownership and state-level deals.

Responsibilities

• This is a sales and execution role grounded in strategic expertise; drive revenue through state funding.
• Own a portfolio of strategic states and carry quota for $20M+ in state appropriations.
• Meet state leadership, develop relationships, and lead contract negotiations with Government Affairs.
• Conduct research on state trends and funding opportunities to inform priorities.
• Lead cross-functional state strategy and ensure alignment with product, marketing, and government affairs.
