Job summary

The University of Massachusetts is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist who will procure materials, equipment, supplies and services of a specialized nature in accordance with procurement policies, leading sourcing efforts and preparing bid specifications.

Reporting to the Category Manager or Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will issue bid requests, review quotations, and lead contracting execution while traveling to campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of professional experience directly related to purchasing, strategic sourcing, contract administration or category management.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials, equipment, supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature per procurement policies.
• Lead or support sourcing efforts and prepare bid specifications; issue bid requests.
• Review quotations and lead contracting execution; award contracts.
• Identify requirements and develop/refine specifications for goods/services.
• Interpret procurement policies to stakeholders and assist in process improvements.
• Write and distribute complex bid invitations or RFPs; analyze bids and proposals.
