Job summary

Service Steel Aerospace is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to develop sourcing strategies and secure a reliable, cost-effective supply of metals and services supporting aerospace and defense industries. The role leads supplier selection, contract negotiations, cost reduction, inventory optimization, and supplier performance management.

You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Engineering to align purchasing with business goals while mitigating supply chain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 5–8 years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity management experience.
• Proven success negotiating complex supplier agreements and achieving measurable cost savings.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory planning, and supplier performance management.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodity categories.
• Lead contract negotiations including pricing, terms, and long‑term supply agreements.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecasts, and consumption trends to support production schedules.
• Track cost savings and drive process improvements in procurement.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety and ethical standards.
