Qualifications

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist works under the supervision of the Director of Supply Chain Operations in the Supply Chain department and will maintain a business advocate role supporting Mosaic Life Care. The Specialist will demonstrate the ability to negotiate complex business and legal contractual terms, exhibit competence with data and financial analytics, audit agreements, review initiatives for future purchasing challenges, and develop relationships both internally and externally. In this role, the Specialist will lead Value Analysis Teams to properly maximize GPO compliance, standardize, and show high performance of products with cost effectiveness while managing clinical and non‑clinical supplies and assets. Basic responsibilities include sourcing, price negotiation, establishing and managing supply and service contracts, and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Is the enterprise expert for the supply market for the assigned category, developing and implementing sourcing strategies for business requirements and managing the corporate portfolio of suppliers for assigned requirements.
  • Analyzes supply price and utilization history and prepares recommendations for opportunities to stakeholders with a focus on achieving lower supply cost while improving quality.
  • Serves as a lead negotiator, sourcing expert, contract specialist, auditor, and consultant for assigned categories leading all commercial negotiations.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of product supplies, prices, sources, alternatives and market conditions.
  • Facilitates product evaluations and product demos in conjunction with the subject matter expert and suppliers, including leading the Value Analysis Team.
  • Builds constructive and trusting relationships with stakeholders and leadership to provide necessary support.
  • Develops pricing, spend, total cost of ownership, control charting and other key analysis.
  • Develops and leads supplier negotiations for equipment and supplies on behalf of the enterprise.
  • Anticipates and initiates the contract renewal process. Responsible for oversight of contract terms, pricing accuracy, fill rates, overall quality control and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • H.S. Diploma - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree - Business or Supply Chain Management - Preferred
Work Experience
  • 5 Years - strong experience in procurement, supply chain and/or Purchasing, ILO Bachelor's Degree, within a multi‑facility health system network - Preferred
