Job summary

  • 4+ years of operational goods & services sourcing management in multi-unit settings.
  • Proven ability to lead sourcing and supply chain projects from concept to execution.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills with proactive solutions.
  • Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted sourcing partner across the business with category management expertise.
  • Develop and refine strategies for operational supplies, smallware, equipment, and services.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks to ensure restaurant availability of goods and services.
  • Monitor industry trends, pricing benchmarks, and market dynamics to inform decisions.
  • Lead supplier onboarding and relationship management to meet quality and ethics standards.
  • Create and manage annual sourcing calendars and execute cross-functional initiatives.
  • Drive end-to-end sourcing events from bids to financial analyses and approvals.
  • Collaborate to ensure sourcing decisions support guest experience, brand, and growth.

As our Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Operational Goods & Services, you’ll play a key role in making sure our restaurants always have what they need to deliver delicious, craveable food and joyful guest experiences. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, you’ll lead sourcing strategies, partner with operations, facilities, and brand teams, and build strong relationships with the supplier partners who support our restaurants.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted sourcing partner across the business, offering expertise in category management, supplier strategy, and risk management.
  • Build and continuously refine category management and sourcing strategies for operational supplies, smallware, equipment, and services that align with Mendocino Farms’ culinary vision and company goals.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential supply chain risks to ensure our restaurants always have access to the goods & services required to serve our guests.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, pricing benchmarks, and market dynamics — turning insights into smart, strategic decisions that balance quality, consistency, and cost.
  • Lead the supplier onboarding and relationship management process, ensuring our partners meet Mendo’s standards for quality, ethics, and collaboration.
  • Develop and manage annual sourcing calendars, leading cross-functional teams to execute initiatives on time and on budget.
  • Drive end-to‑end sourcing events for major projects, from competitive bids to financial analysis to executive‑ready recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functionally to ensure every sourcing decision supports the guest experience, brand integrity, and sustainable growth.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of operational goods & services sourcing management experience required; multi‑unit restaurant experience is a must.
  • Proven ability to lead sourcing and supply chain projects from concept through execution
  • Strong planning and problem‑solving skills — able to anticipate challenges and create proactive solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, ever‑evolving environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ArrowStream and Crunchtime is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
