Job Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for Children's across assigned categories while providing end to end oversight of supplier contracts and portfolios. This role partners closely with internal Children's stakeholders to drive cost optimization, mitigate risk, standardize products and services, and ensure compliant, value based contracting that supports enterprise objectives. The Sourcing Manager serves as a lead negotiator, contract owner, and trusted advisor to Children's leadership, balancing market intelligence, supplier performance, and contract lifecycle management.

Essential Functions
  • Provide overall contract portfolio management. Responsible for managing and executing the contracting needs for the assigned portfolio. Work on a team of contract managers. Help iterate consistent contracting and spend evaluation tools.
  • Serve as lead negotiator for equipment, goods, and services contracts, developing negotiation strategies that advance organizational priorities. Draft, review, negotiate, and execute contracts in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, Analytics, and other stakeholders. Ensures all internal processes are completed prior to contract signature.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, financial, and supply chain stakeholders to align sourcing and contracting strategies with business and patient care needs.
  • Maintain complete contract documentation, including negotiation records, redlines, agreement summaries, and signature memorandums.
  • Ensure incorporation of system approved terms and conditions and adherence to regulatory, legal, and organizational requirements.
  • Own an assigned portfolio of contracts, providing full lifecycle management from sourcing and negotiation through execution, renewal, and replacement strategies.
  • Identifies and recommends product standardization and supplier consolidation that results in greater efficiency while maintaining the highest level of safety and efficacy for all organizational entities and services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contracted suppliers, including the GPO, within assigned categories. Facilitate business reviews, supplier evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor supplier performance against quality, service, cost, and compliance standards and lead corrective actions as needed. Track and report portfolio value, savings, and contract compliance metrics.
  • Provide direct oversight of contract changes. Monitor product evaluations and conversions. Review the analyses of changes to price, models, levels of service, quality, quantity of materials, and estimated delivery dates. In alignment with the Value Analysis Program, form recommendations for departments to consider regarding product evaluations, conversions, and supply standardization.
  • Administer contract compliance oversight, including monitoring changes to pricing, service levels, product specifications, and delivery commitments.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • Master's Degree preferred
Experience
  • 7+ years overall Supply Chain experience required
  • 5+ years Strategic Sourcing related experience required
  • Portfolio management experience required
  • Contracting & negotiation experience required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced skills in planning, project management, analytics, and negotiating.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills necessary to successfully coordinate work with Children's leaders and staff, and suppliers.
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of purchasing, logistics, business management principles, and business math, including business case development, cash flow analysis and deal valuations.
