Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing initiatives across indirect categories (e.g., IT, Marketing, Facilities, Professional Services, Travel, Transportation).
  • Develop category and subcategory strategies aligned with objectives, compliance, and value creation.
  • Drive complex supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms and mitigate risk.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle with Legal collaboration and compliance monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and total cost of ownership optimization.
  • Act as trusted advisor to stakeholders across Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, IT, Marketing, and Corporate Functions.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier landscapes for indirect spend.
  • Identify and mitigate supply, financial, and compliance risks through sourcing strategy and diversification.
  • Track savings, KPIs, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
  • Lead or support procurement transformation initiatives including payment terms optimization and supplier onboarding.

Pay Rate: $ 20.00 / hour

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Strategic Sourcing Manager:

#1. 5+ years of Strategic Sourcing/Procurement experience, with strong Indirect Spend experience

#2.Proven supplier negotiation and contract management experience, including complex/high-value agreements

#3. Experience across indirect categories such as IT, Software/Hardware, Professional Services, Marketing, Facilities, Travel, or Transportation

#4. Strong cost reduction, TCO optimization, and supplier risk management skills

#5. Experience working in a pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other highly regulated environment

#6. Strong stakeholder management and analytical skills, with experience using SAP/Jaggaer and procurement/analytics tools

Responsibilities of the Strategic Sourcing Manager:

We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Strategic Sourcing Manager Indirect Spend to lead sourcing and contract negotiations across a broad portfolio of indirect spend categories such as Marketing, Professional Services, Consulting, Software, Hardware, IT, Facilities, Transportation, etc. This role is accountable for delivering measurable value through category strategy development, supplier partnerships, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and strong stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate is an experienced negotiator with a proven ability to operate in enterprise-indirect categories within a heavily regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead sourcing initiatives across indirect categories (e.g., IT, Marketing, Facilities, Professional Services, Travel, Transportation).
  • Develop and execute category and subcategory strategies aligned with business objectives, compliance requirements, and long-term value creation.
  • Drive complex, high-value supplier negotiations to secure optimal commercial terms, service levels, and risk mitigation outcomes.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle including drafting, reviewing, negotiating (in partnership with Legal), execution, and compliance monitoring.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, and total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, IT, Marketing, and Corporate Functions.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align sourcing strategies with operational needs, regulatory expectations, and financial targets.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier landscapes, and regulatory changes impacting indirect spend categories.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply, operational, financial, and compliance risks through sourcing strategy and supplier diversification.
  • Track and report on savings, KPIs, supplier performance, and compliance against contracted terms.
  • Lead or support procurement transformation initiatives including payment terms optimization, vendor onboarding, SAP data cleanup, supplier diversity programs, and taxonomy development.
Requirements of the Strategic Sourcing Manager:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, with exposure to indirect categories strongly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated success in complex, high-value agreements.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Jaggaer) and contract lifecycle management tools.
  • Experience using data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed, and ambiguous environment.
  • Procurement certifications (CPSM, CIPS) a plus.
Other Key Requirements:
  • Indefinite timeline, 40 50 hours per week
  • India-based candidates are acceptable
  • US remote candidates preferred, but not required
