Job summary

Clear Point Consultants seeks a Strategic Sourcing Manager for a leading life sciences organization in Boston on a 12-month contract. You will own sourcing initiatives across the commercial function, partnering with Procurement, Legal, and Finance in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead market research, supplier evaluations, and negotiations, driving supplier governance and continuous improvement across key vendors in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare settings.

• Experience managing sourcing events from start to finish.
• Strong supplier evaluation and negotiation skills.
• Experience working with contracts such as SOWs and MSAs.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing initiatives from initial business requirements through contract execution.
• Develop sourcing strategies aligned with business and commercial objectives.
• Conduct market research, supplier assessments, and competitive analysis.
• Manage RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes.
• Negotiate pricing, service levels, terms, rebates, and other contractual provisions.
• Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and business partners throughout contracting.

Strategic Sourcing Manager | Life Sciences

We’re partnering with a leading life sciences organization in Boston that is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to support its commercial organization on a 12-month contract basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong strategic sourcing/procurement foundation who is ready to take on greater ownership of sourcing initiatives, supplier relationships, and commercial negotiations.

The right person will be comfortable working cross-functionally with business stakeholders, Procurement, Legal, and Finance in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead sourcing initiatives from initial business requirements through contract execution
• Develop sourcing strategies that align with business and commercial objectives
• Conduct market research, supplier assessments, and competitive analysis
• Manage RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes
• Evaluate suppliers and develop recommendations for stakeholders and leadership
• Manage relationships with key suppliers and support ongoing supplier governance
• Monitor supplier performance, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement
• Partner with internal stakeholders to address supplier-related issues
• Lead commercial negotiations for SOWs, MSAs, renewals, amendments, and related agreements
• Negotiate pricing, service levels, commercial terms, rebates, and other contractual provisions
• Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and business partners throughout the contracting process

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or a related commercial function
• Experience managing sourcing events from start to finish
• Strong supplier evaluation and negotiation skills
• Experience working with contracts such as SOWs and MSAs
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, or another regulated industry is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
