Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager to oversee direct material categories, including steel, aluminum and resins, from our Charlotte, NC headquarters. You will lead category and supplier strategy, perform complex negotiations, and ensure cost efficiencies and supply chain resilience across business units.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in strategic sourcing or category/commodity management.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and leading cost savings.
• Knowledge of tariffs, trade regulations, and spend analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic negotiations with suppliers across steel, polymers and metals.
• Monitor market conditions, indices and tariff impacts to spot savings.
• Define and execute category and supplier strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Deliver annual Total Cost of Ownership reductions per plan.
• Develop commodity forecasts and sourcing recommendations for leadership.
• Lead supplier reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Design and manage multi-site sourcing initiatives, including RFPs and evaluations.
• Track procurement KPIs against inflation/deflation trends.
• Manage risk with supplier continuity plans and lead-time reduction efforts.
• Negotiate long-term agreements for best price and terms.
