Duke Energy is seeking a Lead Sourcing Specialist to advance its supply chain strategy. You will lead complex sourcing initiatives, develop strategies, and negotiate contracts with suppliers.

This role partners with project teams and senior leaders to deliver measurable value and align with Duke Energy standards. The successful candidate will manage strategic sourcing plans, analyze internal needs and market conditions, and drive savings while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus several years of work experience in sourcing or supply chain.
• Experience with complex, high-value category sourcing and competitive events.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
• Experience with e-sourcing tools and ERP/asset management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence executives.
• Excellent analytical, financial, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex strategic sourcing initiatives for high-value or high-risk categories, including market analysis, sourcing strategy development, competitive events, supplier negotiations, contract award recommendations, and realization of annual savings or value targets.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business priorities, project requirements, safety expectations, and supplier diversity.
• Lead contract management activities, including negotiation of terms and evaluation of change orders.
• Partner with project management, construction, engineering, project controls, operations, legal, and finance to support sourcing activities.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and performance management routines.
• Analyze supply markets, commodity trends, and emerging risks to inform procurement decisions.
• Research and apply sourcing best practices and external market intelligence to improve outcomes.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to sourcing personnel and model leadership behaviors.
• Communicate strategies, risks, and results to Supply Chain leadership and executives.
