Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking a Professional Services Category Specialist to support strategic sourcing across consulting, legal, marketing and other business services.

The role is on-site in Akron, Ohio, partnering with internal stakeholders and external providers to drive cost savings, improve quality, manage risk, and deliver measurable value. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4+ years of experience, with project management and procurement experience strongly

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of related work experience in supply chain or sourcing.
• Project management experience is preferred.
• Related work experience includes supply chain or sourcing.
• Professional Services sourcing experience preferred.
• Successful implementation of category improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support the strategic category manager in achieving cost reductions in assigned professional services categories.
• Define contracting optimization strategies focusing on total cost of ownership and service levels.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop optimization strategies and execute improvement plans.
• Leverage analytics to collect and analyze supplier spend data to drive savings.
• Lead supplier selection and management and monitor performance.
• Plan and lead RFP processes in assigned categories.
