Job summary

Sanden International is seeking a Senior Purchasing/Procurement professional in Wylie, TX to evaluate and source domestic and international suppliers for the lowest total cost and highest value. The role focuses on procuring SIA materials and services, supporting production control, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in manufacturing purchasing, knowledge of machining and related processes, and strong negotiation and cost-analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing purchasing.
• Background in machining, casting, stampings, bearings, and surface treatment.
• Strong supplier sourcing, supplier evaluation and negotiations.
• Ability to read, understand, & interpret drawings & specifications as relates to procurement.
• Advanced MS Word and Excel knowledge.
• Familiar with AIAG standards.

Responsibilities

• Procure SIA materials & services at the lowest total cost.
• Support manufacturing and production control with respect to supply shortages.
• Manage the activities of suppliers being qualified & maintain positive relationships.
• Ensure parts are sourced on time and available for all development builds.
• Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies (3–5 year plan).
• Take all ethical actions to ensure maximum cost reductions for SIA.
• Deal with suppliers on an ongoing basis regarding validation, cost reduction projects, etc.
• Complete assignments and reports on time.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with all SIA departments, locations, and suppliers.
• Assist in validation projects to avoid delays.
• Process required procurement documentation promptly.
• Provide timely information for cost reduction reporting.
• Stay informed on commodity developments and market.
• Support management requests for information/data.
• Other tasks as assigned by department management.
