Job summary
Amazon.com Services LLC in Culver City, CA is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support global accounting operations, including monthly close, SEC reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. Qualifications
- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
Responsibilities
- Perform and/or manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
- Support the preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports (10-Q, 8-K, 10-K) and other external filings as applicable
- End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners; Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects
- Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Technology, and Statutory Accounting teams to understand business initiatives and assess accounting implications
- Assess the effectiveness of controls in your area and participate in the design of new controls for emerging and growing business activities
- Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities; drive impactful global projects that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Proactively identify, research, and document technical accounting positions and memorandums on significant transactions
- Assess risks, evaluate internal control considerations, and elevate issues to leadership with appropriate context and recommendations
- Analyze complex processes and systems data to identify root causes and surface insights
