RWE Americas seeks a seasoned Senior Director of External Communications to lead and implement the external affairs strategy across the U.S. The role advises senior leaders, guides crisis responses, and oversees a team of ~3 in delivering multi-channel communications and proactive storytelling.

You will collaborate with Government Affairs and global functions to ensure unified messaging and measurable impact, while driving leadership visibility and enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years in internal, public relations, or corporate communications; 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading high-impact teams and campaigns.
• Background in renewable energy or energy sector preferred.
• Strong judgment and advisory capabilities for senior leaders.
• Multichannel media relations, storytelling, and thought leadership experience.
• Crisis management leadership and rapid response capabilities.
• Proven ability to develop and manage cross-functional collaboration.

• Lead and execute external communications strategy across the Americas.
