Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced professional to lead complex, long-term strategic initiatives within Enterprise Fraud Claims and Disputes, focusing on modernization, risk mitigation, and regulatory alignment.

You will partner with subject matter experts across the organization to translate business needs into actionable requirements, assess risk, and drive initiatives from concept to implementation. This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Job Description

This role supports Enterprise Fraud Claims and Disputes by independently leading complex, sensitive, and long-term strategic initiatives that improve processes, modernize platforms, strengthen operating methodologies, mitigate risk, and enhance customer and colleague experiences. The position partners with subject matter experts and leaders across the organization to define success measures, translate business needs into actionable requirements, assess risk, inform prioritization, and maintain alignment with business and regulatory expectations.

Primary areas of focus may include claims modernization, workflow solutions, AI-enabled capabilities, automation, platform transformation, operational readiness, model governance, policy implementation, and business process improvement. This role is designed for an experienced professional who can represent the business, navigate ambiguity, and bring strong claims, fraud, compliance, audit, risk, or transformation expertise to large-scale initiatives.

This role does not support any form of visa sponsorship and requires working from one of the posted U.S. Bank locations three (3) or more days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the highest-priority and longest-term strategic initiatives supporting claims modernization, platform transformation, policy changes, customer experience improvements, and other complex business priorities.
  • Develop initiative objectives, success measures, business requirements, recommendations, and implementation approaches in partnership with business and technical subject matter experts.
  • Assess business, operational, regulatory, and execution risks; identify dependencies and tradeoffs; and provide information that supports prioritization and decision-making.
  • Support compliance reviews and audits by partnering with auditors and control functions, gathering documentation and evidence, and representing business line processes, decisions, and interests.
  • Apply strong business acumen and risk awareness to evaluate how proposed solutions affect claims operations, fraud prevention, customer service, colleagues, and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner across Product Enablement, Technology, Claims Intake, Customer Service, Fraud Prevention, strategic leads, peers, and leadership stakeholders to move initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Identify practical opportunities to apply AI, automation, business logic, modeling, and governance capabilities within claims and fraud initiatives.
  • Contribute fresh perspectives and recommendations related to modernization, re-platforming, workflow design, operating models, and future-state business processes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically 8 or more years of experience in regulatory compliance activities
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading large-scale, complex, or long-term strategic initiatives
  • Practical experience applying AI, automation, business rules or logic, modeling, model governance, or related capabilities to business initiatives
  • Experience supporting audits, partnering with auditors, gathering documentation and evidence, and representing business line interests
  • Strong business acumen, risk awareness, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience translating business needs into requirements, recommendations, operating processes, or implementation plans
  • Agile experience is helpful but not required

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $98,175.00 - $115,500.00
