Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake City, Utah seeks an Associate, Position Control to provide essential risk management and control across the trade lifecycle, ensuring regulatory obligations, payment controls, and accurate ledger reconciliations are maintained.

You will partner with Technology to design and operate STP controls, develop control frameworks for new business activities, and build strong relationships with trading desks, operations, legal and compliance, and global groups.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or related field with 1 year experience OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or related field with 3 years of experience.
• Experience with risk frameworks including regulatory obligations, payments controls, and ledger reconciliation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel including macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF/AND formulas.
• Experience working in a Straight-through Processing (STP) environment and communicating with business stakeholders and team members.
• Ability to prepare and present reports to senior management and handle multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage risk across the life cycle of a trade and oversee regulatory obligations, payment controls, and ledger reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Technology to design, build, and operate effective controls in an STP environment.
• Provide control design expertise and implement the control framework for new business activities and migrations to strategic architecture.
• Foster relationships across trading desks, operations, technology, legal and compliance, and global groups.
