Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage all aspects of claim submission for services, from pre-review to resubmission, to secure timely professional payments from third party payers. You will perform follow-up with insurers and correct denials while ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of healthcare billing experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with EMR systems such as Cerner, Athena, or Epic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year healthcare billing experience in a hospital, professional, or medical office setting.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. Experience using EMR software (Cerner, Athena, Epic preferred).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all primary and secondary claims submitted to payers according to insurance requirements.
• Analyzes claims for errors during all stages of submission for accuracy of billing.
• Maintains current knowledge of payer requirements and billing terminology.
