Job summary

Arabella Advisors, a leading philanthropic advisory firm, seeks a Senior Accountant Revenue in Arabella Finance. The role focuses on revenue recording, reconciliation, and reporting with strong GAAP and ASC 606 knowledge, reporting to the Revenue Manager.

Based in Washington, DC or Durham, NC, you will review contracts for proper revenue recognition, ensure timely reporting, and support month-end closes and audits in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience (8 years without a Bachelor's)
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to seek feedback for growth
• CPA or CPA track preferred
• Working knowledge of PowerBI, Salesforce, and/or Microsoft Great Plains

Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting weekly, monthly, and annually
• Perform reviews for complex revenue transactions
• Participate in month-end closing activities and reconciliations of accrued/deferrred revenue
• Support the annual audit process and special projects as needed
