Job summary

Iowa 80 Group is seeking a Purchasing Manager to develop and maintain vendor relationships, negotiate costs, and support store operations across Iowa. You will drive profitability through strategic purchasing and effective supplier management.

The role requires analyzing sales data, monitoring inventory, and coordinating with leadership to ensure product availability and pricing accuracy while delivering cost savings and strong vendor partnerships.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, retail merchandising, inventory management, or vendor management.
• Industry retail experience highly preferred.
• Ability to analyze sales and financial data and make strategic recommendations.
• Proficiency with purchasing, inventory, and reporting systems.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, rebates, and promotional programs with vendors.
• Support store managers and profit centers with product sourcing, pricing, inventory, and purchasing needs.
• Monitor backorders, inventory issues, and purchase order discrepancies.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve product, shipping, and service issues.
• Coordinate vendor participation and logistics for training events and company initiatives.
• Analyze sales, margins, and product performance to identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
• Identify and develop private label, bulk purchase, and promotional opportunities.
• Manage pricing strategies, cost updates, and gross profit improvement initiatives.
