OpenAI is seeking a Research Program Manager to partner with research and engineering teams to design and implement pragmatic data collection solutions. The role sits at the San Francisco HQ, interfacing with researchers, external vendors, AI trainers, and the Human Data engineering team.

You will define success metrics, translate research needs into actionable plans, and build scalable data platforms while ensuring security practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Research: Partner with researchers to scope data collection needs, define success metrics, and establish quality measurement frameworks.
• Design & Execute Data Collection Campaigns: Translate research needs into actionable plans and accelerate execution with tooling; collaborate with engineering for scalable solutions.
• Unblock Yourself: Proactively address blockers and pursue partial success even with limited external dependencies.
• Optimize Systems & Processes: Build and optimize dashboards to track campaign performance, using SQL and Python for analysis and insights.
• Drive Technical Roadmaps: Work with engineers to enhance data platforms, resolve blockers, and enforce security practices such as access management.
• Scale Your Impact: Advise program managers and vendors to drive execution, allowing focus on high-priority opportunities.
