Montium in New Jersey is seeking a Controller to act as a strategic partner to the CFO, overseeing modernization and optimization of accounting operations across corporate entities and real estate assets.

Responsibilities include leading month-end close, preparing lenders packages, and delivering detailed cash flows and financial statements.

The role emphasizes data-driven reporting, internal controls, and mentoring teams to improve processes and drive value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• CPA is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience; 2 years in-house; real estate experience a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with property management software (Yardi) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial packages for lenders and stakeholders for loan covenant compliance.
• Prepare cash flow projections, income statements, and balance sheets for corporate entities, investment funds, and individual properties.
• Analyze budget-to-actual variances and report to executive management and ownership.
• Lead and mentor accounting teams; enforce robust internal controls across entities.
