Job summary

Gulf Coast Blood in Houston seeks a Purchasing Supervisor to lead our procurement function and ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services in support of our mission.

You will supervise purchasing staff, manage supplier relationships, drive sourcing initiatives, and ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards while supporting operational excellence across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three years' purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience.
• Experience leading or supervising employees preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and purchasing software.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, or nonprofit operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily purchasing activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and timely fulfillment.
• Create, review, and issue purchase orders for supplies, equipment, materials, and services.
• Review and approve PO invoices, resolve pricing discrepancies and supplier billing issues.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, budgets, quality standards, and regulations.
