Job summary

Industrial Supply is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing team and own inventory performance across the company. You will oversee buyers, manage KPIs, and collaborate with Sales to forecast demand and improve purchasing processes.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and proficient in Excel, with experience in purchasing or inventory management and a track record of guiding teams to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of college or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading or managing a team.
• Understanding of purchasing and inventory principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the purchasing team, ensuring daily tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Own company inventory performance, including levels, turns, and KPIs.
• Review purchasing requirements and generate purchase orders efficiently.
• Analyze SKU performance, forecasts, lead times and trends.
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and address issues.
• Monitor vendor performance, pricing, lead times, and freight.
• Meet with suppliers to discuss performance and opportunities.
• Manage pricing data, descriptions, units of measure, and catalog info.
• Review exceptions, expedite orders, and resolve availability issues.
• Manage vendor returns and pricing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Sales to forecast inventory needs.
• Identify process improvements for purchasing and inventory efficiency.
