Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Purchasing or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Locate vendors of materials, equipment, supplies, or services and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, equipment and services.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or materials.
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
• Procurement of materials, equipment or services supporting the company’s business efforts across the subcontract lifecycle.
• Ensure subcontract compliance with state labor requirements and company policy; negotiate best prices while monitoring risks.
• Travel as required to evaluate suppliers for capabilities, quality, and alignment with needs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
